Thesis

Why is the thesis so important? I feel the thesis is important because it is the first impression the reader gets about your paper. It sets the stage for what is to come in the paper. A well drawn out thesis can keep the reader wanting to read your paper. While a poor thesis sets your paper up to fail. Since the thesis is a general outline of your paper, you get the chance to give the reader a preview of what is to come. If written well, the reader will know exactly what to expect, and what not to expect. This leaves out the chance of disappointment if you do not touch on a topic not in your thesis. Remember though the thesis is just a general preview. If you pack too much information into the thesis, you will leave yourself less to talk about in your body paragraphs. So remember the thesis will dictate the tone of your entire essay, whether it’s good or bad.
